Stephen Dolle, founder of Dolle Communications, provides keynote speaking & workshops on group drumming, health & wellness, hydrocephalus, and AI applications in tech/mobile smart phones. Often referred to as "MacGyver," Stephen has had a distinguished career in health care, local business, entertainment, and the neurosciences. In recent years, he achieved the distinction of "neuroscientist" after numerous efforts he undertook relating to hydrocephalus and a 1992 brain injury. In fact, he directed his last several brain surgeries, including, his surgery in 2008 that resulted in the MRI image below. Because of this, Stephen is committed to furthering advances in the care and treatment of neurological disorders, sensory integration disorder, and health and wellness. Stephen supports a new bill before Congress, HR 1084 (Anna Eshoo, D, CA), that if passed, this 2008 House bill would end the practice of raising your TV's volume during television commercials, known to trigger neurological sequela and behavioral problems in persons with neurological and sensory integration disorders. Stephen undertook and published a very telling and related 2002 study on sound and sensory integration, that incorporated a "metronome" to evaluate the brain's response to various types of audio rhythmic patterns. Today, Stephen gives audiences a glimpse of his
extraordinary survival skills that he accrued after the accident that allowed
him to author papers in artificial intelligence,
the neurosciences, CNS shunt devices, disease management, FDA public policy, But technology and solving complex problems isn't Stephen's only skill. Prior to his brain injury in 1992, he had also been an actor and sports & entertainment promoter. In the years since his injury, he wrote and recorded the healing music song, "Evening Solstice," and appeared on stage and live on radio on the Mark and Brian Radio Show with his son Nicholas for KLOS Christmas Show's the "Dropping of the Ule Log." Stephen hopes to re-record "Evening Solstice" in 2010 with saxophone and lead guitar. Stephen's journey and the extraordinary story of the invention of his DiaCeph Test, the device he conceived in 1997 in order to undergo corrective brain surgery, is to be chronicled in an up and coming memoir, the "DiaCeph Story." Stephen is in the works to write and deliver keynotes under the name, "Professor Mac" and has secured the domain www.ProfessorMac.net The Professor Mac Brand: Drums, Tech Gadgets, Survival Methods, Stuff for your Brain, and Aging in Reverse
Magically, it was February of 2009 when he officially heard the words from his current neurosurgeon that has been wanting to hear for the past 16 years, "You do NOT have NPH." Yes, surgery no. 7 as it is called in the records, was a big success! Stephen's been given a new lease on life. In fact, Stephen or "Professor Mac," is aging in reverse - based on his "new brain" and on broader changes he has made to his health over the last year, in particular, a calorie restriction diet and new exercise plan. "It's all about discipline," he shares.
As a drum circle facilitator and neuroscientist, Stephen delves into the various rhythms of the brain and how they interact with language, movement, and cognition. This Group Drumming 4x 6 card identifies how in my workshops rhythmic patterns and percussion instruments are used to help everyday walking and movement. In his drum circle workshops, Stephen employs drum and rhythm instruments to boost team building, non-verbal communication skills, mental focus, readiness, physical coordination, and mobility. The following Modern Applications of Drums and Rhythm flier illustrates how widely used drums and rhythm are today.

is a self-taught neuroscientist and spent much of the last 15 years in
